Spyera cell phone spy software has made tremendous improvements over the last few years.  I would now categorize them as a full featured cell phone spy tool that offers the same advanced features as the more expensive and popular spy software on the market. They have been in business since 1999 and are considered one of the more mature cell phone monitoring services that currently exist.  Let's move forward and get into the review for Spyera.  We secured a  copy of the software for ourselves and tested it to differentiate the fact from fiction.   Keep reading to find out the results of our testing!

spyera-features

Spyera has a very complete suite of feature that compares well with mSpy, Mobistealth, and FlexiSPY.  All of the expected standard functions are available, including the collection of phone call logs, address books, text messages, emails and multimedia files.  This includes pictures and videos taken with the target device. Spyera also supports a large number of third party chatting apps, and  voice over IP, VOIP apps. The majority of  the social media apps that can be monitored including the highly used Facebook Messenger.

Spyera has an online dashboard which allows you to access all the logged data by app, or feature type. You can view all of the call logs, web browsing history, and text messages including time stamps.  Deleted content including emails also get backed up. Location GPS positioning can be tracked real time using the cell phone’s live location coordinates.  This allows you to map the target phones exact location with a a visual display of the path that was traveled by the phone.

Spyera is also capable of some very advanced spying and monitoring functions that only a few of the top competitors offer. For example, call recording allows you to record and listen  to saved calls at a later time. A live call listening function is also possible, along with ambient listening, which allows you to remotely turn on the microphone and spy into the conversation. The remote camera feature control is also for the rear camera on iPhone and Android devices.  This allows you to view, film and take pictures remotely. Facetime and VOIP calls are also recorded and logged for both tablets and cell phones.

Spyera features

Spyera offers a feature very similar to Flexispy.  It's a powerful password cracker which attempts to steal smart phone unlocking codes, as well as passwords from a variety of apps ranging from Facebook, Twitter, Google Apps, and even email accounts.

Several remote functions are now available.  These allow you to control and update the app in stealth mode using remote SMS commands. You can activate, deactivate, upgrade, or update the app from your online control panel dashboard.  A neat feature is the ability to verify cell phone or tablet battery levels.  You can also restart the device, and even delete text messages which contain preset filter words set by you.

We do like the full offering of features that Spyera had developed, but it is missing some significant parental control options.  For example, mSpy offers the ability to remotely block apps, websites, and any content that parents or employers may identify unnecessary or inappropriate. We find that this is where Spyera comes up short. There is no way to restrict or block anything on the target device through their service.  A possible alternative for this gap would be the ability to see application activity and know exactly what they install, use, and when they remove it. This will let you get full access to a complete overview of how and what is being used on the target phone.

Compatibility:

Spyera is one of the few cell phone spy apps that is compatible with all of the major platforms.  In addition, they have retained service for older devices running the Blackberry or Nokia Symbian operating systems. Different plans are offered for iPads and Android tablets as well.

  • iOS 5.x to 9.1 - Must be jailbroken.
  • Android 6.0+ – Advanced features require rooting.
  • Blackberry OS up to 7.x up (V10 coming soon).
  • Symbian Nokia – Any version.

Spyera Stealth Capability:

Spyera scores very highly in the stealth arena. During our test, we completed the download, installation and activation of the app on both iPhone and Android platforms separately. We found no visible evidence of the service being present on the smartphone. A slight rise in battery usage, which we consider perfectly normal, was registered, but the service after installation was in complete stealth mode. This is ideal for parents or employers that want to keep this spy app on the device without revealing it.  This is very handy for theft protection and security, in the event the device is misplaced or lost.

Support:

We review Customer Support  because we have found it to be a common point of after the sale issues.  We've encountered reviews of individuals complaining of waiting over a day before getting an acknowledgment response from the Help Desk. We decided to put the Help Desk under scrutiny and submitted 4 requests for help.  The first two tickets were responded to in less than 3 hours.  The second pair of requests took less than 4 hours.   It would appear that Spyera has improved their Help Desk response times dramatically and they even boast a less than 24 hour response time on their website.  We give them an A+ for the service.

We would have liked to have seen a toll free number offered; however, calling long distance is probably not an option (They are based in Hong Kong).  The ticketing system for help is the main option for customer service, and seems to be adequate since the turn around time is reasonable and monitored.  In addition,  the questions were correctly answered and the agents seemed well informed, friendly and able to handle most technical issues.

Price/Value:

Spyera offers flat rates across all of the platforms.  It does offer plans for Smartphones, Tablets, or a combo plan for both. Each plan offers a different subscription period length. Tablet and smart phone plans are available for 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year subscription terms.  The tablet and cell phone combo plan is only available for one or two year terms.

You will find that the lack of a cost effective one month package will make you look more closely at the minimum of 3 months.  This seems to be the normal among cell phone spy software vendors as they would like you to use the service for a while, therefore giving the discount for 3 months or greater.  When compared to Flexispy, which offers a similar selection of features, the pricing is about the same for 3 months of service.  This may not be the cheapest service, but it does offer a complete set of features for the money. If you’re looking for , mic bugging, advanced remote control camera spying, call and video call recording capabilities, the price is comparable with our top picks, making this a good choice for a cell phone spy app that works as advertised.  A bigger discount for 1 years rates would have been nice to see.  This is common with the other offerings we have reviewed.  The refund policy offered is a 10-day money back guarantee if you’re unsatisfied for any reason at all.  Rest assured you can take the test drive and still have your money back if you are not happy!

Smart Phone Plans:

3 Months $189 – 6 months $289 – 1 year $389

Tablet Plans:

3 months $149 – 6 months $189 – 1 year $249

Combo Tablet & Cell Phone Plans:

1 year $489 – 2 years $689

In Conclusion:

We completed the Spyera testing over a period of 45 days.  We reviewed both the  Android and iOS versions by evaluating every service and recording the results. We encountered very few anomalies with the service and nothing really worth noting (minor issues found could not be repeated a second time). Multimedia file review, Facetime, VOIP video calls were properly recorded, remotely listening, remote camera,  and e-mail review were a few of the features that worked with no problems.

We honestly think parents wanting more control over installed apps on the target phone, or what websites their kids are allowed to visit would probably like the mSpy app better. Employers might also have a mandatory need for filtering features that are not there. The fallback for this would be reviewing the activity logs for the applications. A drawback for this service is the relatively high cost, and inability to block, filter or control the available content on the device. We recommend Spyera, but find it to be very close to FlexiSPY which is available at a lower cost point for the annual service and has a few more features.  You are the final authority and decision maker, therefore it will come down to your needs and preferences.
